Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy describes the processing associated with Idle Knight Analytics, an independent project by VECR providing statistics about Idle Knight.
1. Data controller
The project is published under the public name VECR. For privacy-related requests, use the Idle Knight Steam discussions. Do not post sensitive information publicly.
2. Statistics displayed
The website requests data from its own API, including routes under /api/metrics/, to display game statistics. The site does not ask visitors for their name, email address, Steam ID or payment information.
If the API contains or exposes information that can identify a player, this policy must be updated accordingly.
3. Technical server logs
The server may process technical data needed to deliver the website, maintain security and diagnose issues. Depending on the actual configuration, this may include IP address, timestamp, requested path, browser details, response status and error information.
The website does not use these logs to create advertising profiles or measure visitor behaviour. Logs should be limited to what is necessary, protected against unauthorised access and deleted according to a defined retention period.
4. Cookies and local storage
The website does not intentionally use advertising pixels or audience analytics tools. It uses browser localStorage to remember the selected language. This preference remains on the visitor's device and is not sent to VECR as a tracking identifier.
No consent banner is provided for this language preference alone. Review this if additional cookies or trackers are added.
5. External resources
The page loads Google Fonts, Chart.js from jsDelivr and images hosted on Steam CDNs. When these resources load, the browser contacts those domains and sends ordinary HTTP request information, including IP address and browser details. Those providers have their own privacy policies.
These requests are not made for audience analytics. Hosting the font and library locally would reduce these third-party connections.
6. Purposes and legal basis
Technical processing supports website delivery, requested statistics, security and troubleshooting. Depending on the specific processing, the legal basis may be legitimate interest in operating and securing the website. The language preference stores a choice explicitly made by the visitor.
7. Recipients
Technical data may be accessible to VECR and providers needed for hosting or loading external resources. Hetzner Online GmbH provides website hosting.
8. Retention
The language preference remains in browser storage until removed by the visitor or browser settings. Server log retention must match the actual configuration and be limited to what is necessary for security and troubleshooting.
9. Individual rights
Where VECR processes personal data, individuals may, subject to GDPR conditions, request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or object to processing. They may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL). Contact the project through the link above and avoid posting personal data in public discussions.
10. Security and changes
Reasonable technical measures should protect the website, logs and API, including updates, access controls, HTTPS and appropriate backups. This policy may change if the website adds new features or service providers.
